Description:
The Arc in Hawaii provides direct services in the areas of Adult Day Health, Residential, and Waiver. Presently, the Arc operates three centers (Honolulu, Pearl City and Wahiawa) and twenty-one community-based residences for people with ID/DD. We assist participants in striving toward and reaching their individual goals.
Eligibility for Services - In order to receive most services at the Arc in Hawaii, participants need to be eligible for Medicaid Waiver. However, some services are also available on a fee-for-service basis for those able to pay for them.
Adult Day Health Services - Adult Day Health (ADH) services are Medicaid Waiver or Fee-for-Service services provided to participants in order to assist them in developing, maintaining and improving their skills in daily living.
Employment Services - Participants who wish to pursue competitive employment can access Employment Services. Employment services are only provided to those eligible for Medicaid Waiver Services.
Residential Services - The Arc in Hawaii has partnered with the City and County of Honolulu and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in providing homes for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). With the assistance of these governmental agencies, The Arc in Hawaii has constructed or purchased three apartment buildings and 17 homes in which residential services are provided to individuals.
