Feeding Maui Nui

Feeding Maui Nui: AlohaPlates2GO

A new project called “Feeding Maui Nui: AlohaPlates2GO” was launched with the partnership of the Maui County Office on Aging (MCOA) and Maui Food Technology Center (MFTC). The program is an innovative response to assist qualified seniors 60 years and older to access food in the continuing pandemic. Eligibility is based on age and targets those who have greatest social and economic needs as well as other aspects covered in the Older Americans Act such as difficulty accessing food. Those who qualify and register for the program will also receive information about nutrition and exercise on a monthly basis.

In this pilot program, qualified adults receive a set of vouchers every month to be used at participating food trucks throughout Maui County. This map will help participants identify participating food trucks. If you do not wish to use the map, a list of participating vendors is available by clicking here on our website (www.mauicountyadrc.org) and MFTC Facebook page. The project is made possible with county, state and federal funding, and is anticipated to last as long as funding is available.

Vouchers are not transferable to another person; only one voucher can be used each day; and the kupuna must be present to receive a meal. There is no cost to the kupuna to participate, however, the recipient may make voluntary contributions to expand the program.

To find out if you qualify for this program and to sign-up, please contact Office on Aging at (808) 270-7774
